Building # 371, 'the composites lab'

This group of single story buildings on the east side of Hollywood Way looked like an office structure from the 50's. It included some old buildings from the Pacific AirMotive plant to the south. There was a high bay area, somewhat like a small hangar. One of the demo guys called it 'the composites lab'. The ceiling was made of 2"x8" tongue and groove fir which had been heavily sandblasted. In Ben Rich's book "Skunk Works", he mentions a problem they had with white paint falling from the ceiling into their stealth composites and compromising the stealth characteristics. Perhaps this is that area.

The first photo shows a logo on a wall during demolition. The beige board above and behind are the one that were sandblasted.

There is an enlargement of the round "Customer Support" logo.

The "Overhaul & Repair" logo was destroyed by the demo crew.
